Open letter from the founder of Dominican Watchdog
July 27, 2009

Dear Overseas Property Investors,

RE: Realtor Oscar Valenzuela - The Dominican Republic

According to Notarized contract of April 2008, I sold my Pre-construction Penthouse in Juan Dolio to Oscar Valenzuela USD 200,000 below current market price at the time.
Oscar Valenzuela, was a leading real estate agent in Juan Dolio and owner of Villas and Castillos. He believed the real estate market would keep growing, and that he would make a lot of money on that apartment.

According to the contract Oscar Valenzuela paid me with these 6 pre-dated checks.

After cashing the first 3 checks with some delays, my lawyers received a letter from Oscar Valenzuela that he needed a month to solve further payments.

However the last 3 personal checks of USD 300,000 from Oscar Valenzuela were never accepted by the bank due to missing funds. Oscar Valenzuela has no assets in his name in the Dominican Republic, so debt collection against him is impossible. I have lost over USD 120,000 on dealing with Oscar Valenzuela!

Not being able to collect my money from Oscar Valenzuela is the reason I established Dominican Watchdog. Today Dominican Watchdog has had over 40,000 page views in less than 4 months. I spend hundreds of hours writing about fraud and corruption in the Dominican Republic on the main site www.DominicanWatchdog.org

Also a new forum has been established for others who got swindled in the DR to write a personal warning here:
www.The-Dominican-Republic.org

Whatever you do in Juan Dolio, do not trust Oscar Valenzuela from Villas & Castillos!

If you have any questions in regards to Oscar Valenzuela – or his full name Tomas Oscar Valenzuela Pons (estate agent in Juan Dolio, Casa de Campo and Santo Domingo) please do not hesitate to contact me personally.

This is my direct number in the US +1 305 600 1866
